For LGBT History Month 2020 LesFlicks has curated 2 programmes of short films showcasing lesbian and bisexual representation
We’ve finished compiling our film collection – in fact it was so successful with so many great film submissions that we ended up with 2 collections. One is a 12A equivalent rating, and the other a 15 equivalent rating. Both are royalty-free so available for you to access completely free.
Here at LesFlicks HQ we grew tired of seeing libraries trying to show LGBT films in February as part of LGBT History Month, but only having access to a very limited selection of films, and being unable to fully promote the screening due to licensing restrictions. We decided to take action to improve the situation! So we put out a call for short films showcasing lesbians and bisexuals on screen and created a programme of films that libraries can access and show to give members of the LGBTQ+ community more choice this February.
We have been reaching out to UK libraries, LGBT networks, university networks and community groups. We are aiming to create a list of events on this page. However if you want to see one or both of these programmes locally to you, the best way to get this is to ask your local library and to tell them how to access it – completely free!
Anyone eligible to screen one of these programmes, can find out more and register their interest here.
