What is LesFlicks?

LesFlicks is an innovative new film and media platform for people to discover, share and watch great independent and international films and web series that show women loving women on screen, or that have a lesbian or bisexual storyline; or have a lesbian or bisexual woman as a supporting character who is portrayed in a positive way.

In addition to being an online platform, we are actively working with the community by holding film clubs and events.

We also support new lesbian and bisexual filmmakers to network and provide a space to share experiences.

Why should I subscribe to LesFlicks video on demand?

LesFlicks is committed to helping our viewers to watch films and series that they may otherwise not have heard off or not had the chance to discover. Many films with a lesbian or bisexual storyline often do not get distributed; or even if they do get distributed, may not reach many LGBT people who are interested in this content.

In addition to having content that isn’t available elsewhere, we will also have some content that may be available on other platforms. However we pay our filmmakers royalties based on views so every time you watch through our platform. You are also adding to the data we are collecting around the number of hours of content that are watched which can be used by filmmakers when pitching for funds to make further films.

So by subscribing to Lesflicks you are directly supporting filmmakers which is increasing the likelihood that more content will be made.

Do I have to subscribe to watch content?

No, as well as the subscription service we also have pay as you go videos. You will need to sign up to the website in order to be able to see the pay as you go videos.

Is there a joining fee to sign up to the website?

There is no joining fee or lock-in contract. If you choose to watch a film you pay for it, otherwise it’s free to use the rest of the site to discover great films in our database, read reviews and check out our film club events.

Typically a 90-minute movie will require approximately 1GB (Gigabyte) of data transfer if you watch it from beginning to end. If you are concerned about your data usage limit, we suggest you consult with your Internet Service Provider to determine your data allowance and whether it is appropriate to use the LesFlicks video on demand service.

What is the picture quality like on LesFlicks’ video on demand platform?

Picture quality will vary between different playback devices (due to specifications) and is also dependent upon the quality of the internet connection that the service is being streamed on. Another factor is how many people are using your internet connection at any given time. These factors are the most significant influences on picture quality.

On most devices under normal conditions, the picture quality of LesFlicks content is as good as you would get on free to air television. We have films in our database which are not in English and we include subtitles by default for these films. We hope to expand the range of subtitles in other languages such as Spanish, French, Mandarin and German in the future.

At present the LesFlicks video on demand platform is an online streaming platform and as such requires your viewing device to be connected to the Internet in order to stream and watch films. We hope to release a platform with offline viewing at a later stage one we have a larger user base and bigger catalogue.

As often as we can. We have an increasing number of films and series available for you to watch. Every month we will send you an email letting you know what new titles we have been adding and recommending new titles to match your tastes based on your subscription preferences.

How are LesFlicks’ pay as you go videos priced?

Our prices vary but are typically impacted by the age and popularity of the content.

How do I get the best streaming for LesFlicks’ content on the platform?

To get the most out of streaming LesFlicks’ content on the video on demand platform you will need a minimum Internet connection speed of at least 1.5 Mbps. To view high definition movies devices you will need a service that operates at least at a speed of 3.5 Mbps.

What happens if my film freezes and will not restart?

First, we recommend checking your Internet connection to ensure that it is still working, perhaps by testing another Internet connected device. We also suggest that you check other household members are not attempting to download large files, especially torrent files, as this may affect the performance of your Internet service. When you purchase a film it is available for 48 hours so you will be able to watch the film during this period. If you are still experiencing problems, please contact us and we will investigate the matter.

What forms of payment are available?

You can currently pay by VISA and MasterCard as well as by PayPal. We are also considering other payment methods and as they become available, we’ll be sure to let you know.

I can’t find a film I’ve seen, can I add it to LesFlicks?

You can flag films for us to add by dropping us an email at content@lesflicks.com and we will try to add them if they meet our criteria.

Do you have a mobile app?

Our first stage release is online streaming only, however we have plans to release an app in our at a later stage one we have a larger user base and bigger catalogue.

Can I partner with LesFlicks?
