By now I think we’re getting used to getting TV content later than the US (episode 1 aired on 6 October 2019) – that doesn’t make it any more frustrating – especially when spoilers appear on the global social media.
Thankfully it isn’t a spoiler that Batwoman has come out on the show, since the episode, How Queer Everything is Today (episode 10) just aired in the States and had social media all a flutter. And just as we hear this joyous news – we find out the series is finally hitting the UK!
Even better news, season 2 has already been announced and is due to be coming out (in the US) in 2020. As E4 have signed a deal Warner Bros. Television Group we are hopeful this will also include series 2 – and perhaps without such a long wait!
Batwoman on E4
E4 has announced it will be bringing Batwoman, the new female caped crusader to UK screens after acquiring the much-anticipated WBTV series, Batwoman.
Starring Ruby Rose (Orange is the New Black) as the DC Super Hero, the series will be coming to E4 in 2020 in a deal with Warner Bros. Television Group.
Ruby Rose stars as Kate Kane, the first openly gay female lead of a live-action Super Hero show. Â Three years after Batman mysteriously disappeared, Gotham is in despair, overrun by criminal gangs. Kate returns home when the Alice in Wonderland gang target her father Jacob and his security firm.
Based on the characters from DC, the series, from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, Batwoman is executive produced by Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl), Caroline Dries (The Vampire Diaries, Smallville), Geoff Johns (Titans, Wonder Woman) and Sarah Schechter (Blindspot, Riverdale).
