Synopsis: Is It Me is an intimate portrait of a bio drag queen. The film opens to the surreal image of Emma in her bizarre outfit in the city streets at night. Emma struggles with body dysmorphia which at times causes a warped sense of self. She explores the emotional pain that this mental health struggle has brought her, through her practice as a costume maker.
We follow Emma’s cathartic process as she creates a look for a night out made from odd fetish items and fabric. Once transformed into a creature of grotesque beauty Emma feels ready to journey into the night, dancing in the ethereal laser lights of queer clubland.
