The Postie

Comedy, 8 min 54 sec

Log line: Amy falls head over heels for the new Postie but finding out whether the attraction is mutual proves to be far more difficult then she first expected.

Funny, charming and full of awkward queer vibes, this short will chime with anyone who’s gone the extra mile to avoid asking their crush if they are queer (So…all of us?).

The Postie (2019) is a festive short in which Amy (Kat Ronson) falls in love with the girl who delivers her post (Kate Winton), but has no idea whether her new love could like her back. So, armed with a few brazen ideas and a slightly misguided best friend (Ruby Todd), she tries to figure out whether or not the postie likes girls. Her attempts are blundering and often ridiculous, but nevertheless endearing and, let’s face it, relatable.

The Postie’s strength is in its ability to take a simple concept and stretch it out in creative directions. It’s strengthened further by generally solid writing and performances, as well as its high production value.

Funny, charming, and full of awkward queer vibes, this short will chime with anyone who’s gone the extra mile to avoid asking their crush if they are queer (…all of us?). So, whether you’re making a necklace out of carabiners or setting your ringtone to an aggressively loud Girl in Red song, you’re not alone – this one’s for you.
