A reminder of how we may leave a footprint in the snow that melts away, but that the feelings never leave us
THEY FOUND HER IN A FIELD is the second short film from writer and director Ellie Rogers to feature at BFI Flare. It is a story about how a young adult returns to the place where she lost her childhood girlfriend and the memories that this brings on.
This short film is beautifully shot, it was snowing which is a beautiful overlay to the cold harshness of the memories that flood back to Martha (Nina Mazodier) as she remembers Sophia (Nia Towle). In a short time, this film takes us on a journey from present day to the past, and then back to the present. The film has been overlayed with a poetic and mesmerising voiceover from Martha’s inner voice. It feels intimate and like we are so close that she is able to share her innermost thoughts that she has never shared before.
